Ecological Imperialism, first published in 1986 and since then reprinted into German, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and many other languages, is an extremely interesting and thought-provoking monograph in which Alfred W. Crosby attempts to understand why European imperialism was so successful from a biological and ecological perspective. Crosby is largely employed in this project to provide theoretical framework to environmental arguments made in the environmental influences story-map.
